Why I Work Here: Members' Wealth Commitment to Service

Our mission is to make every interaction a positive experience. We understand that clients can go anywhere, and we want you to choose us. 


History is something you cannot erase. A couple of years after my husband and I got married, we decided to buy the house that he grew up in. At first, I was hesitant. Not because the house did not have great potential but because it held so many memories for my husband and his seven siblings. Would they be okay if we started making changes? Would they question our decisions? Would it change the history of the house? Over the years, I realized that you build on history by making changes for the better. It is called progress. 

Years ago, when we were much younger and at the beginning of our careers, Dane, Tim, and I worked together in the client service department at another financial institution. Eventually, we went our separate ways and pursued different avenues in our careers. Although we lost touch over those years, our history remained. So, when Dane was starting Members’ Wealth, he looked back in time to find the best people to collaborate with him on this new venture. This new firm was being constructed on the foundation of client service above all else. That led him to Tim and me.    

 

At the time, I was not in the market for a new job. However, I knew from our history that we all held the same beliefs and standards about how our clients should be treated. Could we take our history and common standards and build something better than what we had known in the past? Something amazing. Something we love. And I knew the answer was a resounding yes, so I decided to join them on the Members’ Wealth journey. 

My entire career has been in client service. Over the years, I have learned so much. Chief among the knowledge acquired in my career is this: every interaction shapes a client’s impression. Our mission is to make every interaction a positive experience. Client service is an opportunity and a privilege. We understand that clients can go anywhere. You have a choice. We want you to choose us. That is why we take the time to get to know our clients, we take the time to listen, and we take the time to understand. We take the time because it is important to our clients, and it is equally important to us. 

My charge to you, as I wrap up, is to evaluate how you’re being served in your current financial situation, whether that’s through a bank or credit union, a financial advisor, or a CPA. What stands out to you about how you’ve received service? What’s the most important aspect of service for you, the client?  

As part of our service pillars at Members’ Wealth, we want to create spaces for our clients to provide feedback in ways that we can serve them better. We’re trying to build something different here. So, if there are ways you’re not being served by the financial advising industry in particular, we’d love to hear that feedback. Because, like anything, service is not static. It’s constantly changing, and we’re committed to being part of that change.
