Estate Planning
by Marie Feindt, J.D. on Jan 15, 2025
With more than 20 years of experience in writing Wills and Trusts and probating Estates, the worse results for clients were DIY Wills created online or no Will at all. When a parent dies without consulting with an attorney who is familiar with the law and court opinions on interpreting Wills and the correct procedure to administer estates, then there are expensive problems for the surviving spouse or children.
I educate clients on the importance of planning for their family’s future with their estate planning strategies. Estate planning puts our clients in control with a proactive strategy for financial security, minimizing taxes and prevention of legal disputes. Planning ahead fosters family harmony with clear communication about clients’ intentions and encourages transparency of a clients’ goals that underpin the estate plan.
Estate planning is a gift to your family and reflects foresight and care. Your legacy will endure with a well-crafted plan including trusts or gifting.
Estate planning encompasses the purposeful accumulation, conservation, preservation, and transfer of an estate by establishing clear goals and objectives through planning and implementation of an estate plan.
The overall purpose of the estate planning process is to develop a plan that will promote and achieve the estate planning goals, values, and objections of individuals and their families and to carry out their charitable goals, if any.
Estate planning has come to include and mean lifetime planning that leads to creation, conversation, and transfer of assets. Estate planning should also facilitate the intended and orderly transfer of property at death, taking into consideration, the family unit, and the potential costs of different methods.
