Lawyers, Guns, and Money

Dad instilled in me a love of music. Brother got the real music gene and ability to know all lyrics. But a few stuck out in my mind. Dad loved himself a little Warren Zevon. I bought my first Zevon Tape from Columbia House when I was able to get 12 tapes for a penny back in the 90s. However, it was not until I heard the song covered by Widespread Panic at Madison Square Gardens in my early 20s, (on Halloween 2003 and Brother and I held his phone up during the song for Dad to hear from home) that I Started to appreciate the lyrics, given my chosen profession, Wealth Management.

I went home with the waitress, the way I always do
How was I to know, she was with the Russians, too?

I was gambling in Havana, I took a little risk
Send lawyers, guns and money, dad, get me out of this, ha

I'm the innocent bystander
Somehow I got stuck between the rock and a hard place
And I'm down on my luck, yes I'm down on my luck
Well, I'm down on my luck

And I'm hiding in Honduras
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns, and money
The shit has hit the fan

Alright, send lawyers, guns, and money
Huh, yeah
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Uh
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Hey
Send lawyers, guns, and money
Oo, yeah
Yeah
Yeah

At Members’ Wealth we know the importance of having a good plan in place to protect your money. While it is ok to take “a little risk”, you had better make sure your plan is not just to call Dad to, “Send lawyers, guns and money, dad, get me out of this, ha”. Thus, we have brought together a team of professionals focused on helping you make good financial decisions and structure your assets in a way, so in case you happen to end up “hiding in Honduras” or you are just the “innocent bystander” for whatever reason, you at least know your assets and family are taken care of.
